A Facebook picture of a woman, apparently, pointing a gun at a toddler’s head has gone viral, sparking questions and outrage.

Is this real? Who is the woman? Is the child safe?

The picture was first sent to an anti-domestic violence blog, No Longer Victims. According to them, “I was sent this picture today by a friend who was very distressed to see it on her page. It apparently was posted to see if anybody could find the girl and if they cared well we do care and we have to find this baby as this scares the hell out of me.”

According to the Daily Star the photo first appeared on an Argentinian Facebook page about a month ago – and has since disappeared.

Internet myth de-bunkers say it could easily be photo-shopped as a prank. Regardless, this is disturbing and a cry for help for this child. The fact the person would even think to photo-shop an image putting a child’s life in danger is disgusting and concerning.

And this hasn’t been the first time; guns have been pointed at children in what are supposed to be “funny” pics. This image made the rounds last year on social media.

If anything, I hope this is a sick joke and prank. I’m glad it’s sparking outrage and creating buzz about child abuse and that this is not okay. I hope this baby is found, before it’s too late.

According to the report, “fatwas issued by both groups [Brotherhood and Salafis] regard women as strange creatures created solely for sex. The study addressed 51 fatwas issued during the rule of ousted president Mohamed Morsi. Among them, the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafis “permitted wives to lie to their husbands concerning politics,” if the husband forbids her from being supportive of the Islamists or their agenda; she may then, through taqiyya [dissimulation] — a Muslim doctrine that permits deceit to empower Islam — still be supportive of the Islamists while pretending to be against them.

The study similarly revealed that some of these fatwas decreed that women who swim in the sea are committing "adultery" -- even if they wear a hijab: "The reason behind this particular fatwa, from their point of view, is that the sea is masculine [as with many other languages, Arabic nouns are gender specific, and "sea" is masculine], and when the water touches the woman's private parts she becomes an 'adulteress' and should be punished."

Moreover, "Some of these fatwas also forbade women from eating certain vegetables or even touching cucumbers or bananas," due to their phallic imagery, which may tempt women to deviate.

Other fatwas decreed that "it is unacceptable for women to turn the air conditioning on at home during the absence of their husbands as this could be used as a sign to indicate to neighbors that the woman is at home alone and any of them could commit adultery with her."

One fatwa suggested that marriage to ten-year-old girls should be allowed to prevent girls "from deviating from the right path," while another prohibited girls from going to schools located 25 kilometers away from their homes.

Another stated that a marriage is annulled if the husband and wife copulate with no clothes on.

Multiple explosions hit Kenyan capital

 

The centre said the first blast occurred on a 14-seater matatu, or public minibus, and the second was inside Gikomba Market, situated to the east of Nairobi's central business district.

The Kenyan Red Cross said five of its ambulances were evacuating casualties from the scene of the blasts.

The apparent bombings come amid a wave of attacks in both Nairobi and the port city of Mombasa, and come days after several countries issued new warnings about travelling in Kenya.

On Thursday and Friday, hundreds of British tourists were being evacuated from beach resorts near Mombasa because of the travel warnings.

Earlier this month three people were killed and 86 wounded in twin bus blasts in Nairobi that were blamed on Islamic militant cells linked to Somalia's Al-Qaeda-linked Shebab rebels.

Kenya has been targeted by the Shebab since sending troops to war-torn Somalia in 2011.

Jiao Xinzhen revealed the bizarre method during interviews to promote husband Huang Aiqing's monkey school in Nanyang, Henan province.

Huang, 34, has become one of the region's top monkey trainers, supplying young apes for work in movies, circuses, theatres and to street performers.

His wife Jiao, 27, explained: 'Many times, some of the baby monkeys slip onto our bed at night to suck my breasts.'
